Why record Face-to-camera or Voice-over?

You need to be comfortable otherwise it will show in your video - even in your Voice-over.

Your skills in front of a microphone and camera will dictate how you present your video.

There is likely to be a lot of practice required before you can present a good image face-to-camera.

In this module, I discuss the Pros and Cons of Face-to-camera recording compared to a simple Voice-over.

If you remember nothing else - The most important point is that you need to be comfortable otherwise it will show in your video - even in your Voice-over.

Pros for Voice-over only recording:

  • Voice-overs will be easier to film -

  • You will spend less time editing a Voice-over

  • You will need less equipment.

  • You can edit out ums and ahs

Cons for Voice-over only recording

  • Your audience is less likely to bond with you

  • The end result will likely not be as polished.

  • You will be less likely seen as an authority

All modules discuss Know your audience” at the beginning of the module to ensure each student understands how to find their "Potential audience"

"Questions to ask yourself
